The Geometry module at VM Centre for Traditional Arts delves into nature’s patterns, symmetry, and proportion. Paired with Biomorphic Design, it’s the cornerstone of our design instruction. Inspired by Pakistan’s heritage, students learn geometric pattern drawing and design skills applicable across all modules. In this particular module, students will be taught traditional geometry patterns based on four-fold, five-fold, six-fold, eight-fold, ten-fold, and twelve-fold symmetry, further enhanced with references to historical monuments, Covering two & three-dimensional geometry. This practical course draws from Islamic art’s floral motif to equip students with the ability to recognize and apply biomorphic design principles in various crafts, diverse paint media, and techniques.
