Sahar Alamgir

Is an emerging textile artist based in Toronto and Islamabad. With a background in global health and anthropology, she transitioned from the international development sector to pursue art full-time. Sahar specializes in repurposed textiles, drawing inspiration from quilting traditions and emphasizing conscious consumption and community. She completed a post-graduate diploma in traditional arts from VMCTA, and was a 2023 Winter Resident at the Penland School of Craft. Sahar’s work will be featured in an upcoming group exhibition at Neilson Park Creative Centre in Toronto in August 2024.
